About Us

My name is Alyssa and I want to truly thank you for visiting Earthshine Cove. 

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always been drawn to nature. I feel connected, safe, and understood by the Earth around me and the sky above me. I’ve used the inspiration nature gives me to make my artwork. I view the world in different ways and my artwork is the representation of that view. Whether I’m swimming in the ocean, hiking through a forest, or gazing up into the core of the Milky Way on a dark starlit night, I’m grateful every day for the lessons I’ve learned and the self reflection I’ve done. 

There is so much we can learn from the natural world and our place in it. I feel very passionate about this to the point where it has become my identity. I created Earthshine Cove because I want to help people discover themselves through nature the same way that I have. I’ve been through a lot of rough times in my life and each time I’ve found my healing surrounded by the trees, clouds, mountains, water and stars.

One of my favorite things about nature is all of the gifts it provides us. Rocks, crystals, pinecones, feathers, drift wood, seashells and fossils are all precious to me. They tell stories, some thousands of years in the making, and yet somehow their paths have led them right into my hands. When I am feeling emotional, I’m able to hold onto a crystal and think through the emotion with a clear mind. I get the same feeling when I gaze up at the full Moon or trace out the constellations with my eyes. We all have a story, ours is a human one, and human stories are a big part of Earth’s story.

Of all of the beautiful things we can see here, Earthshine has always stuck out to me. Earthshine is what happens during a crescent moon when the reflection of Earth is visible on the Moon. When we observe it, we are essentially looking into a mirror. Seeing Earth’s reflection up on the Moon is a reminder that we are bigger than we think we are and truly are part of the cosmos. I am also deeply connected to the ocean and the serenity it’s powerful deep waters give me. This is why I named my business Earthshine Cove, because just like the Moon controls the tides, we control our lives.
